Wow, what a horrid billboard. I am definitely pro-life, but even for the other side of the debate, it is just wrong. The idea of it publicizing the issue or bringing it out into the open just doesn't ring true with me. I mean, they are making a joke of a serious issue, whichever side you are on. If for example, an ad jokingly showed a child drowning to advertise their product, most peoples first reaction isn't " Wow, that really makes people think about boating safety" Not exactly a perfect analogy, but an issue with alot of pain and anguish surrounding it just isn't going to make me say, " Gee, I really DO need extra storage space. What's that number?"

You are correct - that billboard is just ludicrous - such propaganda, however, does work sadly enough. Shall we all call that storage company and give them our opinion about their advertising choices?

I've seen that billboard campaign lauded on my favourite feminist blog, and I'm a little undecided on it. I mean, disturbing: hell, yes! And certainly, almost glib about the matter. But at the same time, I can see how a large portion of the pro-choice community is in favour of it: it publicizes an issue that is so often closeted (forgive the entirely unintentional pun...lawd, I have to find a cure for those accidental puns)and makes women - and men - think about it. But no, I wouldn't want to see that every day on my commute, and I really wouldn't think "Hey, I'll call them for storage solutions!"

I agree - that billboard is really disturbing. Of course, I have my own opinion regarding the matter of abortion, but I respect other's right to their opinion also - as long as they don't try to force it on me. It just seems to me that whatever side of the fence you're on, the idea of comparing women's lives to a flippin' closet is just sickening.
