Mariposa is done after 2 long years of not doing a damn thing with it because I hate to seam. Laziness, I know. In Lion Brand Microspun (which for the life of me I couldn’t remember the name of during the podcast … other than micro…I kept wanting to say microfiber. sorry about that!

Book Reviews:

The Tour de Fleece is over and I learned a lot while spinning during that time.

Charity:
Plans for the Lupus Raffle in September are going well. Thank you to all who have sent in donations for prizes already! Looking to start mid-Sept and run through probably Oct. 5. Tickets will be $5 each and I am hoping to raise $5ooo this year!

Crafting for a Cause will be officially name changing to Homespun Helpers on August 15th. More into on that blog. I am so pleased to be part of this amazing group!

    Really enjoying your podcast thus far, please keep them up. They are great company while I knit in the evenings. :)

    Don’t worry about having a 2 year UFO. I knit up a jumper that I knit and only needed to be seamed and gave it to my mum after 10 years as the jumper and I were no longer the same size. I’m not actually sure if mum ever seamed it either… that was 6 years ago.

    I followed the TurtleGirl link too. I’m excited you do a podcast, I *heart* podcasts.

    I almost had as many WIPs as you (possibly more) but i was never getting anything done so i frogged most of them and am only working on one project at a time. I also bead, and try to design, and create cross-stitch pitures… I still haven’t finished anything because I keep ballsing them up too badly, but it will happen. I have faith.

    Thanks for the review of the books, I have been puttering around the edges of spinning and have yet to take the plunge, but I’ve been collecting books – in the desperate hope that this will help me…

    I’ve got a UFO that’s at least 6 yrs old (ie. more than 2 university degrees ago…) I changed sizes and decided that knitting with ribbon yarn was a pain… I should dig up that and frog it…

    I so enjoy listening to your podcast – you’ve got a great “radio” voice! I’ve gone as far as purchasing a handpainted drop spindle and roving but have not been able to quite figure out how to use it! These books sound great – definitely ones to get whether or not I win!

    I really enjoy your podcast. I listen while I do my daily walk. Thanks for reviewing the spinning books. I have the older book and didn’know if the newer one was different enough to buy. Two years for UFO is nothing to worry about. I started a sweater when my youngest started kindergarten. He is now starting his sophomore year in college. :) I actually knit some on it this summer.

    Just found your podcast and downloaded all of the episodes. Love it! Keep up the great work. I have been knitting for about 4 years now and I also want to learn to spin but do not know where to start. Wheels are so expensive so I have thought about getting a drop spindle but again don’t know which one to get. Take care and see you Ravelry!
